How to do video analysis and make an angualr displacement vs time graph:

Excel spreadsheet required in above video

PowerPoint giving step by step instructions on how to use Kinovia, how to frame a video and some ideas on ways of collecting data

Videos in order:

Appendix 1:

Kinovea: a free open source video editing software, which quickly and easily allows you to measure distances (need a refernece distance in the video), angles and times. If you take high frame rate video you can use Kinovea to get very accurate time periods. However, nothing beats the old stopwatch to give you a rough idea of the numbers you are looking for. http://www.kinovea.org/

Appendix 2:                                                à Be careful with your phone!

Phyphox: is a free app that allows you to use your phones gyroscope and accelerometer to easily measure angualar velocity and centripetal acceleration of your phone on a spinning object. It also easily allows you to see the data from one phone live on another device. http://phyphox.org/

Appendix 3:

Vernier video Physics: is an $8 app which allows you to to complete compelx analysis using video taken on your phone. https://www.vernier.com/products/software/video-physics/
